from "Gute Fahrt" 7/99	The R-TDI at the 24-h race at the Nuerburgring. This car took 4th place in the category of alternative powered cars and drove the fastest lap in it's class. 9:24 min for the 25.5 km / 15.8 mi lap.

from "Gute Fahrt" 8/99	The new "long life technology" for the y2k models. That technology extends the service intervals up to 50,000km and requires the use of "log drain" full synthetic motor oil meeting the ne VW standartisation VW50300 and 50600. All cars with the "QG1" in the data field prifit from that new feature. The new service intervals are: for gas powered cars: 30,000 km / 18,640 mi for 4 cyl diesel:  50,000 km / 31,068 mi for 6 cyl diesel:  35,000 km / 21,750 mi together with that feature comes a oil level control lamp and a break wear display
